Cookie Policy

This Policy concerns cookies and relates to the website at www.eko-dom.szczecin.pl

What are cookies?

Cookies are computer data, in particular text files, stored on users’ end devices and intended for use with websites. These files make it possible to recognise the user’s device and display the website appropriately, adapted to their individual preferences. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, how long they are stored on the end device, and a unique number.

What do we use cookies for?

Cookies are used to adapt the content of websites to the user’s preferences and to optimise the use of websites. They are also used to create anonymous statistics that help us understand how a user uses the website, which makes it possible to improve its structure and content, without personally identifying the user.

Which cookies do we use?

As a rule, two types of cookies are used: session cookies and persistent cookies. The former are temporary files that remain on the user’s device until they log out of the website or close the software (the browser). Persistent files remain on the user’s device for the period specified in the cookie parameters, or until the user deletes them manually. Cookies used by partners of the website operator, including in particular users of the website, are subject to their own privacy policy.

Cookies can be classified in more detail according to:

TYPES OF COOKIES BY NECESSITY FOR PROVIDING THE SERVICE:

Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the correct functioning of the site or of the features the user wishes to use. Functional cookies are important for the operation of the service: they enrich its functionality; without them the service will work correctly, but it will not be adapted to the user’s preferences. They serve to maintain a high level of functionality; without the settings saved in a cookie the level of functionality may be reduced, though this should not make the site entirely unusable. Some serve very important features of the service, and blocking them will mean that selected functions do not work correctly. Business cookies make it possible to operate the business model on which the site is made available; blocking them will not make the whole service unavailable, but may reduce the level of service because the site owner cannot generate the revenue that subsidises its operation. This category includes, for example, advertising cookies.

BY THE TIME A COOKIE IS PLACED ON THE USER’S END DEVICE:

Session cookies are placed for the duration of the browser session and are deleted when it is closed. Persistent cookies are not deleted when the browser is closed and remain on the user’s device for a specified period, or without an expiry date, depending on the site owner’s settings.

BY ORIGIN – THE ADMINISTRATOR MANAGING THE COOKIES:

First-party cookies are placed directly by the owner of the site being visited. Third-party cookies are placed by external entities whose page components have been called by the site owner. Note: cookies may be called by the administrator using scripts and components located on partner servers in another location – another country, or even an entirely different legal system. Where the site administrator calls components originating outside the administrator’s own systems, cookie policy rules other than the site administrator’s privacy or cookie policy may apply.

BY PURPOSE:

They allow functions and services on the site to be configured. They allow authenticity to be verified and site performance to be optimised. They make it possible to indicate when a user is logged in, so that the site can show the relevant information and functions. They make it possible to record how users use the site. This may relate to the most frequently visited pages or to any error messages displayed on certain pages. Cookies used to save the so-called session state help improve services and make browsing more comfortable. They enable the site itself and the functions available on it to work smoothly. They make it possible to display advertising that is more interesting to users and at the same time more valuable to publishers and advertisers, to personalise advertising, and they may also be used to display advertising outside the site’s own pages (domain). They make it possible to adapt the information displayed to the user’s location. They allow site owners to better understand their users’ preferences and, through analysis, to improve and develop products and services. As a rule, the site owner or a research company collects information anonymously and processes data on trends without identifying the personal data of individual users.

TYPES OF COOKIES BY INTERFERENCE WITH USER PRIVACY:

Harmless cookies cover those necessary for the correct operation of the site, required to enable its functionality, but whose operation has nothing to do with tracking the user. Investigative cookies are used to track users, but do not include information making it possible to identify the data of a specific user.

Do cookies contain personal data?

Personal data collected using cookies may be gathered solely for the purpose of performing specific functions for the user. Such data is encrypted in a way that prevents access by unauthorised persons.

Deleting cookies

By default, software for browsing websites permits cookies to be placed on the end device. These settings can be changed so as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the browser settings, or to give notification each time they are sent to the user’s device. Detailed information on the options and methods of handling cookies is available in the software settings (the browser). Restricting the use of cookies may affect some functions available on the website.
